How to Convert JFIF to JPG

What Is a JFIF File?

JFIF stands for JPEG File Interchange Format, and it is the underlying container that most JPG photos use behind the scenes. Sometimes the file is labelled with the .jfif extension instead of .jpg, most often because it came from an older camera, a scanner, or a website that saved it directly in that form.

Because the picture data inside is already JPEG, this tool simply re-saves it with the familiar .jpg extension. The result opens everywhere a normal JPG opens, which fixes the confusion caused by the unusual extension.

The Picture Stays the Same

The photo does not change when you convert it. It keeps its full width and height, and the colours stay as they were. Because a JPG has no transparency, any see-through area is filled with plain white.

Control the Quality

Every conversion uses a quality between 50% and 100%. At 100% the JPG keeps almost every detail.
